3 Reasons Why You Should Use Social Media
There are 3 great reasons why you should be leveraging social media for your business...
1. It will generate customers for you.
2. It is a simple, low cost way of marketing
3. It will generate customer for you (get it?)
Social Media Marketing
Now is the time to get social media working for your mortgage business. It is a low cost, effective way to grow your business and build your brand (YOU).
When I made the jump to use social media, I had to do a lot of searching as well as trial and error. There is so much out there, that it is intimidating to start. My first steps were with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. I did alright, but I boosted it up a notch with the use of a small book called Social Media Marketing for Mortgage Brokers and Real Estate Agents.
It really showed me what to do and how to be effective on-line. It also guides you with respect to blogging, but I haven't gotten there yet.

Automate Your Communication
If a client only uses your services once every 5 years, they won't remember you. After all your work of getting a customer, you will lose them due to non-communication (and you will lose the friends that they could refer). This is where automated tools come in.
You can write a series of e-mails once, then set it on autopilot for each new client or prospect. I also have a series of these for the professionals who send me referrals. I routinely get referrals from Financial Planners, Real Estate Agents and Accountants. Keep in touch with them and they will keep the referrals coming.
I have used two different systems and like them both. I suggest you have a look at iContact and Aweber, and pick what you like best.

My e-mail Drip Campaigns
1st of the Month - information on what is going on in the industry and where the rates are (mortgage specific information).
15th of the Month - information on one of the social media platforms that I use, where they can find me, how they can join me and interesting events (webinars). This information is not mortgage related.
Just doing one of these each month, you are reaching out 24 times a year to your client. And... at the end of each message, I always ask for referrals (Do you know anyone who could use my services?, etc). It works folks!
